Wrestlemania 34 Preview

Daniel Bryan is back, Ronda Rousey is here, and The Undertaker is (probably) wrestling a match. That can only mean that it must be Wrestlemania season. Today I'm going to take a look at each match and give you who I think will win, as well as how WWE should book the particular match.

Match 1 - Women's Battle Royal

Who will win - Becky Lynch

The WWE needs to throw Becky Lynch a big win sooner rather than later. I expect Lynch to finally pickup a big victory and win the inaugural Women's Battle Royal. The rest of the four-horsewomen have had their huge moments, it's time for Becky to notch one of her own.

Who should win - Nikki Cross

This would be a great opportunity to debut Nikki Cross on the main roster and give her a dominating victory. Cross is intimidating as hell and it would do her wonders to make her first appearance and win on such a large stage.

Match 2 - Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Who will win - Matt Hardy

The woken one should continue his momentum after his successful Final Deletion segment a few weeks back. Having Hardy win should keep the crowd going through the pre-show

Who should win - Tye Dillinger

Dillinger is in massive need of a reboot and something to hold onto. The fans would be totally into it, it would come as a huge surprise, and it would hopefully give Dillinger momentum heading into the next wrestling "season."

Match 3 - Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali (Cruiserwight Championship)

Who will win - Cedric Alexander

WWE has actually done a fairly decent job booking the Cruiserweight tournament and Alexander rightfully should go over to become the new champ.

Who should win - Cedric Alexander

No reason to do anything different here, Alexander's earned his spot.

Match 4 - Randy Orton (c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev (United States Championship)

Who will win - Rusev

Nobody else makes sense here. Orton is likely leaving, Roode should be pushed to the main event, and Mahal has had his run. Rusev is as over as over can be and it's time to put the belt on him and see what he can do.

Who should win - Rusev

My biggest gripe is when WWE doesn't take advantage of their hottest stars. It's time to make money off of Rusev's immense popularity.

Match 5 - The Bar (c) vs. Strowman & TBD

Who will win - The Bar

I smell chicanery ahead in this match. I can't imagine that WWE wants to bog down Strowman in the tag team division. It's also worth noting that the best outcome of this match is for The Bar & the mystery partner to screw over Strowman and then to just watch Strowman beat the living hell out of all three men for five minutes.

Who should win - The Bar

As much as I want to see Strowman win, it doesn't make sense for him to be in the tag team title picture. Having Joe be the mystery partner makes sense with the payoff being a screw job on Strowman; thus setting up Strowman vs. Joe going forward.

Match 6 - The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers (Smackdown Tag Team Championships)

Who will win - The Usos (c)

The Usos are the best tag team going and it doesn't make sense to put the titles on either of the other two teams at this point. The Usos retain in what should be an entertaining match.

Who should win - The Usos

We've seen everything the New Day has to offer and The Bludgeon Brothers just shouldn't be holding the belts yet. Have the BB go over early in the match and look dominant throughout but with the Usos pulling off a last second victory. This division is in massive need of new blood going forward.

Match 7 - Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax (Raw Women's Championship)

Who will win - Alexa Bliss

I'm just not sold that the WWE is ready to put the belt on Nia. This match really could go either way and nothing would really surprise me. I think they have built the WWE's only true goddess up enough to keep her as champ through Wrestlemania.

Who should win - Nia Jax

Bliss is fantastic and Nia is ready. There's really no going wrong here. To me the WWE should be building Jax, Asuka, Charlotte and Rousey up as much as they possibly can. To me those are the future stars of the division and matchups between those four will payoff the most. Put the belt on Jax and start making her look dominant. If I were booking this I'd have Jax win, Carmella cash in, and then Jax win again.

Match 8 - The Miz (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor (Intercontinental Championship)

Who will win - Finn Balor

Balor simply needs this match more than the other two. From last Wrestlemania to this Wrestlemania Balor was never really able to get any traction and it never felt like anything he was doing was overly important. That needs to change. A good start is by putting the IC belt around his waist.

Who should win - Finn Balor

As mentioned above, Fin needs the win. The title doesn't do anything for Rollins and having the Miz lose his mind because he didn't set the record is a good look for him. Here's hoping to a more important Balor in 2018.

Match 9 - John Cena vs. The Undertaker (maybe)

Who will win - The Undertaker

This match still isn't official so we don't know 100% for sure if it will take place but it certainly seems likely. You can make a strong argument that if this is possibly The Undertakers last match that he should do the honors and have Cena win but that would cut the legs out from underneath Reigns and Lesner, both being the only two to have bested the Dead Man at Wrestlemania.

Who should win - Neither

I'd actually like it better if this just ended in a street fight and no actual match taking place. The Undertaker being "retired" at last year's show is better than anything this will provide. Neither gets anything from a win and neither should probably lose. Let them fight without an actual match and let it be as simple as that.

Match 10 - Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Who will win - Bryan & Shane

With this being Bryan's first match back, I cannot envision a way that he doesn't leave without his hand raised. I guess an argument could be made that it would be smart to start him with a loss, especially if Shane were to turn heal. But I think WWE rightfully goes the safe route and lets the fans go nuts with a thundering YES chant as Bryan leaves with a win.

Who should win - Bryan & Shane

As much as I love Owens & Zayn, this is rightfully all about Daniel Bryan. It's so insanely amazing to have him back in the ring and he deserves to go out on top in this one.

Match 11 - Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Asuka (Smackdown Women's Championship

Who will win - Asuka

Recently WWE has liked to keep a surprise up their sleeve at Wrestlemania and maybe, just maybe, they could try and pull one over and have Charlotte win here ending Asuka's streak. I don't see it though; I think Asuka will win and keep her undefeated streak in tact.

Who should win - Asuka

She's a star and when you've built the streak this much there's no reason to end it now. I still can't tell you how upset I am that Flair's PPV streak ended so unceremoniously. Asuka's undefeated streak vs. Flair's undefeated PPV streak would have been epic. This is still great but they really missed an opportunity.

Match 12 - Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H

Who will win - Ronda & Kurt

It's Ronda's first match and Stephanie + Trips aren't active wrestlers. There's zero chance anything happens except Ronda going over big. This is one of the most predictable results of the night.

Who should win - Ronda & Kurt

Rousey has to get the win here. It may actually be better for her career if Angle were to take the pin-fall and have it build more character for Rousey, but there's no sense in giving HHH & Steph the win.

Match 13 - AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE Championship)

Who will win - A.J. Styles

Unless Styles is really banged up and needs time off after this feud, or if they want to move Styles to Raw, Styles should retain. It's been brutally obvious that Nakamura is not ready to be in a high profile spotlight outside of the ring. I have no doubt that Nakamura and Styles will put on a show, and Nakamura should be a future champion, but he simply needs more time.

Who should win - A.J. Styles

Same as above, Nakamura simply isn't ready and Styles is the best in the business. Keep the belt on Styles, keep his momentum going and keep him as the face of Smackdown.

Match 14 - Brock Lesner (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Who will win - Roman Reigns

This may be the most predictable result in wrestling history. Reigns was projected to go over Lesner here since before last years Wrestlemania. Lesner is likely leaving WWE and the WWE has been dying to annoint Reigns "the guy" for about 3+ years now. There should be zero doubt that Reigns is going over here.

Who should win - Brock Lesner

Don't get me wrong, despite the hate he gets I really enjoy Reigns' matches, but the better story here is for Lesner to win, make it look like a shoot, and have him leave WWE with the title. This way there is a major reason to tune into Raw the next night, it likely sets up a truly interesting title picture going forward, and it doesn't end the show with the entire audience booing Reigns. The truth is it's better for Reigns and his character to not win. He can pick up the win down the road and honestly Reigns should be the one defending the belt at Wrestlemania's not the one chasing it. Should Reigns go on to win the belt it could setup a champion vs. champion match with Lesner vs. Reigns at Summerslam.
